Hi there,
Looking to go away with the gf to a nice beach area. Anyone got any cool spots that they can share? Really open to suggestions here |

Sri Lanka has some of the best...and least crowded...beaches I've ever seen! |

Depends on your budget, but here are a few suggestions:
Jeju island - lots of beaches and more foreigner friendly than most other places. A bit expensive to get there.
Deokjeok island - couple of decent beaches, and close to Seoul
Ijak island - haven't been there but heard it's really quiet and has nice beaches. again close to Seoul.
Anmyeon island - down the west coast - lots of nice beaches and generally quite chilled.
Seokcho - On the east coast - water is a bit cold, but has a nice vibe.
Gangneung - Same as Seokcho, but a bit quieter.
Busan - Haeundae beach is mobbed in the summer and there's no space to sit down and chill out, but the water's nice. There's a few other beaches nearby, but I don't know their names.
Hope this helps a bit |

What he said!! Although personally, I like Anmyeon Do best...but I've never been there in the tourist season so I can't tell you what it would be like...crowded like every other beach in Korea I'd imagine!
Honestly, your best bet would be to do the tourist thing in Seoul. Everyone is gone to the beaches and mountains so it won't be so crowded. |

Thanks for the info. Yeah I'll be looking to stay within the mainland.
Would love to go somewhere quiet and not sit 1 meter away from fully grown men listening to Kpop.
A lot of the beaches have an 'opening time' from July. How can the beach be 'closed'? |

You can still go other times, but other things may not be open. I do know at the end of September, it was only the foriegners who were swimming in the water. |

I really liked Sangsu Beach on Namhae Island. I was there during the Buddha's Birthday 3-day weekend, and yet it wasn't very crowded! |

if you're willing to spend some money the seogwipo resort area in jeju has a nice private beach area. the lotte, hyatt, and shilla are all there. |
