I have a car that I am going to be selling soon, and after looking I realized that I lost my car registration somewhere. I know in the US this is kind of big deal if you're pulled over or in an accident, but I am wondering if it is a big deal here in Korea? Do I need to request a copy be sent to me? Or will they just have the information regarding my ownership in a database or something somewhere?

This may be kind of a silly question, but any advice or info would be helpful.

Get your papers in order. If you need a Korean to go with you to the registry office, find one and go get your replacement papers. Unless the car is NOT in your name, you won't have a problem. Flash them your ARC and/or your D/L and that's enough. You're selling the car soon anyway. Now, if you have fines and other penalties leined against your automobile, you will have to pay those at that time too. But that will be the same issue if you want to transfer title to another person.

I concur with what EMark says. My last one got hit while parked. So, the insurance company fixed it for me. Sent to scrap yard. Got an ajossi to go with me to get another car a couple of months later.

Thanks guys! I got it figured out and was able to go to my local car registration place with a friend and get a copy. Easy peasy, in and out in about 5 minutes Smile
