I'll be working close to Gangnam this year and the gym I used to frequent moved to Daerim (it's an MMA gym), so I figured Sadang would be a happy medium.
I'd really like to live in HBC, though. Got a friend that wants to get in on one of those 3 bedroom apartments for about 800k won a month. I'd be paying 800k a month for a tiny studio in Sadang (already checked 'em out).
Unfortunately, HBC is both a 40 minute subway ride to work and a 40 minute subway ride to Daerim.
What would you choose? Obviously the benefits to HBC are a sweet pad, the food, most of my friends live/frequent there anyway, the central location, etc. Sadang would obviously be great for getting to/from school and the gym (it's only about 25 minutes from HBC/Itaewon so I could go there without to much trouble)
Anyone know how long it'd take to either bike or motorbike out to Daerim/Sindorim area from HBC/Itaewon?
Thanks. |

Welcome to Seoul. My commute is 1.5 hours one way. That's par for the course. |

Motorcycle to sindorim from HBC - easy. Down to Samgakji and head south towards yongsan. Cross the bridge, follow the tracks. With no traffic (middle of the night) you could make that run in 10-15 minutes, depending on lights/conditions/how fast you ride.
You could also go across Hanam Bridge towards Gangnam. As far as traffic goes, I don't know, but if you found a good route, it'd be doable in a 25-30 minute ride. Please note, I follow all traffic laws and obey all the lights, etc. If one were to be a bit more reckless, they could do it faster. If we're talking high school delivery guy, it'd be a LOT faster. |
