Samsung has a 7.7-inch Galaxy Tab that's around 682,000 won, but I wonder if a better model is coming out soon.

Perhaps Apple is the way to go on this.

just broke my non-apple-device owning streak last week by picking up a "used" iPad 2. 480K on Naver marketplace and I don't regret it at all.

Depends how and what you use it for. I wouldn't get anything less than 32.

I've had 32gb on my first iPad, 64gb on an iPad 2, and went back to 32gb on the new iPad. For me, 64gb was really hard to fill, though I did manage to do so by loading it up with tons of offline GPS maps of North America and Asia.

I read a lot of magazines (Wired, The Economist, etc.), comics, watch TV shows, podcasts, do word processing, some basic photo editing, and play a fair amount of games (Infinity Blade, etc.) on my iPad and there are times when I run out of room on a 32 gb model, though it's rare. Looking at my stats right now I have about 7gb on apps alone, another 4 on photos, 5 on video, and 7 on music.

They still sell the 16gb iPad 2 via Apple Korea for 500k, although I personally think the screen on the new one worth the price difference. Just my 2 cents. I personally am a huge fan of tablets and get a ton of use out of my iPad, have since I bought the first on launch day 2010.

Yes, it's a 32 gig one. I think 32 is necessary, 16 is too small for any heavy use and 64 is fine but a bit expensive.

I'm curious as to where iPad 3 owners bought their tablets. I have seen the price online and they seem higher than the ones at the stores.

I bought mine at the Frisbee store in Bundang/Seohyeon. The prices were the same as Apple.co.kr.

I generally avoid any mom and pop Apple shop because I've found the prices to be inconsistant. A place at Shinsage tried to sell me an older version iPod Touch a few years back for more than the current model was selling at the Apple store online.

Anybody have experience with the Asus Transformer Prime tablet PC? I hear it's the best Android tab out there.

I was close to getting one but

- they upgraded the non-prime transformer (new designation TF300) to tegra 3, ICS etc. Under the hood it is exactly the same as the prime, but without the super bright screen, with a slightly shorter batt life, and without the sexy aluminium case.

and

- they are releasing the Transformer Infinity, TF700T, which has a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200, up from 1920 x 800.

So wouldn't pull the trigger on the prime right now - the TF300 gives best value for money, and the TF700 is the newest, sexiest release.

After checking out the iPad 3, I'd definitely go an android tablet. Screens not as good, but I the iPad's connectivity is too limited for my taste.

After using Android exclusively for the past 2 years and now using iOS on my iPad, I think I have exactly the opposite opinion of wintermute. I won't even consider an Android tablet, though I am willing to give Surface a chance when it comes out.

I just asked an IT professional friend about iPad vs. Android, and he said Android since Apple limits what you can do. He says he likes to read and stuff on his tablet and that Apple doesn't allow this 100 percent or so. Mind you, he is biased against Apple so I'm not sure if his view is purely objective.

That said, I'm thinking Samsung will provide better afterservice than Apple, but PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.

I use an ipad2 and love it. I haven't had any problems. I don't use my laptop for anything anymore other than to hook to my TV to watch movies that I don't put on my iPad. I even edit/create documents with Cloudon.. It all comes down to personal preference in the end. I'd go to a samsung store and play with one of their tablets and then go to a Frisbee or another apple store and play with an ipad and then make a decision.

Well, I have a Galaxy S2 phone and I'm thinking that getting a Galaxy Tab will be just another version of my phone, only bigger.

The Asus Transformer Prime is on sale in Korea but it's overpriced like heck.

I will do more research but I must say, Apple charges a premium for their prices, and for me, design of the hardware exterior isn't a concern.
