Hi guys,

As a prospective TEFLer, I have just recently been looking up the various hoops one needs to jump to gain a Visa. One of those is, of course, the health check.

All is fine and dandy except, on one report I read, it said that a fairly complex colour blindness test was required of them to complete.

I must say I am hopelessly colour blind. Not to the point of being canine, but distinguishing between close colours (especially in a test-esque environment) would be nightmarish and virtually impossible to succeed in.

Is this likely to be a stumbling block? Seems pretty ludicrous if it is...

As always, any help is much appreciated.

Even then, they'll likely only ask if you are and not actually test you.

You'll be fine.

As a severely colorblind person and one who got a Korea driver's license, let me quote the doctor at the testing center:

I was given a color blindness test as part of my AR health check, just a couple of weeks ago.

I'm also colorblind and have a Korean driver's license. When I did the health check for the driving test, I just told the doctor that I wouldn't be able to read the numbers so he sat me down on a chair and had a machine with a light that changed from red to amber to green, he cycled through them a few times and all I had to do was say what the color was.

As for the health check for your ARC, again I just told the doctor that I was colorblind and she made a note and moved on with the next test. No problems.
