Are there any non-Korean rock songs that mention Korea?

If by Korea, you mean North Korea, there are quite a few, although I won't mention all of them:

F.R.D.C. by D.R.I:

Quote:
I'm a first round draft choice... 19
A man without a choice... unseen
Feedback from society
Please... A reason

For Kampuchia
The problems in Korea
The wars in Iran
Afganistan
Argentinas Falkland Islands

Red Revolution by Anal Stench

Quote:
Solidarity, Gorbachew, star wars
China, korea, Berlin wall falls

Double Zero by Flotsam and Jetsam

Quote:
Remember Israel and Korea
Kuwait's the best time I ever had
Had an accomplice who knew of nothing
I killed the best friend I had
Can't be too careful, can't use computers
They're gonna catch my disease
I work alone don't trust my own mother
Scratched out like ticks and fleas

Kali-Fornia Uber Alles 21st Century by Mevlins

Quote:
Don't you worry, it's for a cause
Feeding Halliburton's claws
Die on depleted uranium gas
North Lorea or Iran
Run you down mit my Hummer, baby
If you mess with Schwarzenegger
And all the money that's making him bigger
Kali-fornia ber alles
ber alles Kali-fornia
I'll be back!

United Abominations by Megadeth

Quote:
A grave and gathering danger, the decision to attack
Based on secret intelligence it'll take years
I fear to undo the failings in Iraq, Iran, and Korea
You may bury the bodies, but you can't bury the crimes
Only fools stand up and really lay down their arms

Cannot believe anyone mentioned the awesome song "Asian Hookers" by Steel Panther?

"I'm in South Korea, broke out with Gonorrhea!!!"

Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire" mentions Korea several times. It even mentions Syngmun Rhee, S. Korea's first president.

There's also "The Ajoshi Song". Very Happy

The Templars - Land of the Morning Calm

On a world flight late one night
He left his friends, he left his wife
Far to the east, destination unknown
Doesn't even know where to call his home
Thought he had it bad back on the block
Knocking down pints with no afterthought
Now he's far away in some foreign land
He took for granted all he had
CHORUS
2x Over the Sea of Japan
He left his freedom, he left his land
Over the Sea of Japan

12 beers later and the sun in his face
It's not a bad dream, he's really in this place
360 days to some, but they're not in the land of the morning calm

Songs that I thought (by their title) must have been about Korea, but turned out to be about something else.

Take this job and shove it (Johhny Paycheck)
Dirty White Boy (Foreigner)
Dirty Deeds (AC/DC)
What a fool believes (Doobie Bros)
Lies (Rolling Stones)
Dirty Old Town (Pogues)
Ooh, that Smell (Lynard Skynard)
Won't get fooled again (The Who)
Should I stay or should I go now? (Clash)
Us and Them (Pink Floyd)
Don't stand so close to me (Police)

Pavement: Cut Your Hair.

I caught Malkmus playing this song with some Pavement cover band in Seoul and the locals went nuts.

He's saying "career, career, career..." not "Korea, Korea, Korea..."

You're joking about Malkmus playing in Seoul, right?

Yeah... back in 2002. He opened for Timony. Played some early solo (Jicks) stuff and was then joined by a Korean cover band.

As for Cut Your Hair... career evolves into Korea. Wordplay.

You sure about that? I know it sounds like Korea, but I always assumed it was "career", because of the theme of the song. After your post, I looked it up in several lyric websites online, and none of them said "Korea."

Not that that means anything, but... how are you so sure?
