new LT 2.0 + is out.
Me, I wanna move away from disks and I don't go online....Wasabi looks sweet, but I have no idea how to extract my drive key. |
it might b written on the outside of ur optical drive case...it was on my first modded 360 here. of course, u have to open the 360 case up, but it's not that hard. |
WASABI yser guids says.
Once you have obtained the DVD key for your Xbox 360, you shoul d have a file called Key.bin which contains the
16-byte key in binary format.
I think to get it into binary I need jungle flasher and an sata port, but i only have a notebook pc |
i was going on the assumption u already had the 360 flashed, but i guess i was wrong. anyway, my kor 360 that died was modded here and whoever did it wrote the dvd-key on the dvd-drive casing. sadly, the newer US one that was also modded here didn't have the key given to me(or written on the casing). found out i have the liteon 74850c drive on this one, so i'm going to go ahead and do it myself. fairly simple tutorials are everywhere.
http://www.xconsoles.com/xecuter-blaster-ck3.html
u can also wait for the wasabi's coming soon feature of "Automatic extraction of the DVD key". but, how long will that b? might b longer than u want to wait for as they aren't even shipping the wasabi yet, from what i can tell. sorry, what i meant was a lot of sites seem to b out of stock, but some aren't. so, it comes down to $100CDN for the wasabi(which DOES seem much easier, IF u already have the key) or $55US(and having to do a bit of work myself) when i don't have the key. |

Also remember, to flash slims you need some expensive tools from xecuter:
x360usb pro
ck3
Together they are well over $100. And you gotta burn a f'n hole in your drive chip if you have a 0225! |

Yes, and my aim is to put either an Xkey or Wasabi into a new/used slim.
Both Xkey and wasabi have removed "auto key extraction" from upcomming features on their offical sites. Must have been tough.
Interestingly, Xkey have been fast on firmware updates (good). They have now implemented a wasabi style system of selecting game iso from 360 dash. I am so tempted to order one, but at present demand exceeds supply in most countries. Only pre orders are available. I suppose if I got a used flashed slim , the key may have been already extracted |

This is part of the reason I love my Wii. Bought it modded a couple years ago, haven't had to take it back for anything. Did a bunch of easy homebrew upgrades and can run every game I've tried flawlessly off a USB harddrive, and actually faster than when off a disk.
My PS3 craving is nearing critical mass though. I'll probably just buy the games I want to play since the old ones are cheap and - with the amount of time I actually spend gaming - by the time I finish them all, there will either be an easy mod for the PS3 or the newer games will be sufficiently old to be cheap. |

Same with me. Played Mario Galaxy 1 and half of 2 and got incredibly bored with it all...
Answering your earlier question, I am not certain, but I think my console was an 0225. I matched up the serial # with a list identifying ranges of serials with which drive is in the console.
It was most likely 0225, with a tiny chance of being a 9504. |

Should I flash my 360 to 2.0 now or wait until the new dash comes out and THEN flash to 2.0/2.1/whatever cfw is out then?
- I am interested in OFFLINE gaming only
I'd really like to play some of the new XGD3 games, but I'm afraid that if I flash to 2.0 now, newer games won't work if I'm not on new dashboard that's supposed to drop soon. My guy at Yongsan charges about 70USDso I'd re ally love to avoid flashing again for a while. |

Looks like LT+ 3.0 is in the works.
I really wanna play all those XGD3 games, too. But I'd hate to pay to get my box flashed again before 3.0 comes out, FMMFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Skyrim................................. Saints Row............................. Arkham City................................................. and the list goes on forever. |

I flashed mine a couple of weeks ago with the "Russian Hack". Luckily my 0225 had an MXIC chip.
Cost me $1 and a good deal of stress.
Materials: Torx drivers to open the box, hobby knife to cut the trace, and an HB pencil cut to 10cm with wires glued to each end to act as a resistor (I'm so ghetto!). I just used my old PC (with ICH10 chipset) SATA to hook up the drive. I just used the console to power the drive (not recommended by the pros...but...)
However, I don't recommend this as it is a very ghetto way of doing things...but I had Skyrim fever. |

Just a heads up. The Gllitch chip is finally at Youngsan.
If you want a guy that speaks english well and will organize taekbae delivery call Raymond 02 703 9721 or 010 3360 9721
I am so happy to not have to deal with disks any more |

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same "chip" but I had my box Reset Glitch Hacked a whiiiiiile ago. It lets me run games, DLC, XBLA games, and whatever else I want off both the internal AND external HDDs. Way better than wasting time with Team Jungle and burning everything.
DLC....... FOR FREE |
