|

I have my CBC and everything ready, but I know that it has to be recent, within 6 months. Thing is, I've been putting this off and thinking about it, but I now have less than a month to go and I decided to try this for the final time.
So the question is, will it make a difference if it expires after I get to Korea, but current at the time I am offered a contract? Or do I have to have a lot of available space? |

Your CBC needs to current - within 6 months - when it is submitted to Immigration and processed for your Visa Issuance Number. |

It MUST be 6 months or less when it lands on the desk at immigration for the visa confirmation number application.
6 months + 1 day and you start again.

Hey Ttompatz. Do you have any experience with this Canadian organization?
http://www.backcheck.net/individual-criminalrecordchecks-living-abroad.htm
Looks useful, but too good to be true for those in Korea.
Edit Update: this organization is obviously legit as the Halifax Regional Police uses the system to provide checks for Halifax residents. The following was taken from the Halifax Regional Police website:

Options for Obtaining a Criminal Record Check
Halifax Regional Police is pleased to once again partner with myBackCheck to provide an online method for residents to obtain record checks. While a record check can still be obtained by visiting one of the locations listed below, we believe you will find the online service faster and more convenient. The online check is performed by Halifax Regional Police staff, but rather than wait 10 days for a paper response, myBackCheck sends the results to you electronically, normally on the same business day. |

If the form does NOT say "XXXX police service" or RCMP on it it (as the issuer) will likely be bounced by Kimmi.
If you are in Korea you should already have a proper check on file.
Kimmi will issue copies for use with the MOE.
IF not (then not sure how you are still working) then order one from the RCMP (getting it authenticated at the embassy is still an option) or face issues later.
If you are in Canada go to your local police service and get it done.
It usually takes less than a week.
