OP, reapply and obivioulsly check nothing. If they question you about you previously checking clinical depression....which the actual category is clinical depression explain it to them this way.

"I was misdiagnosed, I went to one counselor when I was feeling blue and he immediately diagnosed me with clinical depression. However, I saw another counselor and he told me it was nothing more that a situational thing that I was going through...just the common blues."

They may still deny you but anybody in the mental health field, as I'm in, knows that misdiagnosis happens all the time. One could go to three different counselors and get three different diagnosis (We're getting better but that's the reality).

Although this may be a long shot, it's worth the chance. The sad commentary is that they will know nothing of what I just mentioned and they are looking for any reason to deny people these days, i.e., just mentioning you went to counselling could be reasons for denial.

I personally consider it a strength and maybe with the new mental health awareness campaign you may just get lucky.

Keep trying

So, now this thread is entering the area of question I had opened in another thread about "flagged" and "black listed" teachers.

How is it that we can "KNOW" that there is or isn't a Santa's naughty and nice list that GEPIK / EPIK has or doesn't have about foreign teachers?

There are other threads that discuss immi has no lists and no "flagging".

I guess in the end this is just a forum of opinion and not always fact right?

Right.

(OMG, I'm talking to myself! The cat's out of the bag now buddy! They all see your skit-so - di-mencha now!)

Kimmi does not keep a list.
Kimmi DOES have your previous history with them on file (just like the various government agencies at home have for foreign nationals in YOUR country).

IF you have a notation in your Kimmi file then it is there to stay and won't go away (just like your FBI file - and yes, Kimmi IS a part of the department of justice / national police service).

Is it a "black list" that anyone can check = no.

Can they decline your entry / visa / etc. based on their own records = yes, that is their job.

EPIK/GEPIK do not keep lists. They also have YOUR record of YOUR interaction with them in a file and yes, they consult YOUR record with them whenever you interact with them.

It is NOT a list that anyone can check.

Sorry, I meant to post this awhile back, but I'm in the good ol' ROK as we type...

Got a letter from my doctor and wrote one myself, they passed it through.

Thanks for all the advice and info, though. It's certainly helpful for those (unlike me) who are doing thorough research on this forum.

I just wonder that if I ever apply again and want to keep living here, is it smart to tick "no" on the app? As in, since they already have a record of me and the letters and such...

That's good to hear. It's also good to hear of one instance where honesty was treated fairly.
