I've read you can apply here but I don't know how, maybe the embassy can advise you further? If so, can you update us here? |

If you are legally resident in the US (student visa, work visa, green card, dual citizen) you can apply from the US.
IF you have previously held an E2 you can apply from the US regardless of your status.
If you are a snowbird, go home.
side note: you still need your documents authenticated by a Korean consulate in Canada and you still need an RCMP background check done.

I do have my fingerprints ready to send to the RCMP. But I have to have my docs authenticated by Korean consulate in Canada? Can't do it here?[/quote] |

I understand...since Canadians dont get their docs apostilled, I would probably have to work with Korean consulate in Canada. But i'll call the consulate here in the US to verify. |

I'm pretty sure they have to be verified in a specific consulate, actually, at least when it comes to diplomas. For example, you couldn't get a diploma from UBC verified in Montreal, nor could you get a diploma from Dal verified in Vancouver. I could be wrong there, but if it is the case it's really unlikely that they'll verify your Canadian diploma for you in the States.
As for verification, I'd be shocked if they'll do it, as the logical extension of a consulate in the US verifying Canadian documents would be that they can verify documents from anywhere in the world. |
