Well, sort of. Will change to CNU or CFU or something like that. Convenience for you maybe. Anyways, the Korean version has been paying royalties to Japan for 20 years for the right to have these names. So, the Koreans have decided they don't need to pay those anymore. Store will change it's name and become it's own company next month. Don't think it will have any effect. Hopefully, will still be able to find odd western goodies here. lol

Mini stop is also Japanese originated. GS25 is Korean. 7-11 is American, but a Japanese company may either have ownership of the company or Asian rights over it. Got into a conversation with some Koreans last night and they passed this on to me. Just in case any of you folk were curious....

FYI, 7-11 was originally an American company, but it's now Japanese owned. There are still 7-11 stores in the United States, but there are far fewer than there used to be.

Family Mart's in Korea are grossly inferior to their Japanese counterparts.

That would imply that the Family Mart's in Japan are great. I always liked the Family Mart's in Korea.

Nothing terribly wrong with K-Family Marts, it's just that the competition is at another level in Japan.

Similar to how overall there is no comparison between Jpn and K women.

I like how you can walk into any mart in Jpn and buy a decent ready-to-eat meal and they just nuke it for you right there. saves a few coins from the restaurant fare. Very Happy

You can also make photocopies, send faxes, and receive directions for anywhere in the immediate neighborhood.
