Has Korea got its own Harry Truman? Let's hope not.

Annex 2 states are those that formally participated in the 1996 Conference on Disarmament and possessed nuclear power or research reactors at the time.[9] Eight Annex 2 states have not ratified the treaty: China, Egypt, Iran, Israel and the United States have already signed the Treaty, whereas India, North Korea and Pakistan have not signed it. The treaty will come into force only with the signature and ratification of the above Annex 2 states of the treaty, 180 days after they have all deposited their instruments of ratification.

So as soon as China, Egypt, Iran, Israel and the U.S. ratify it, it will go into effect. I'm sure all of those countries will happily get right on that.

Right. I don't really see that as solving the problem.

Yeah, well, you now have a clearer view of the countries that are holding things back. Until the Test Ban Treaty is ratified, or another treaty put into place, the NPT is a far better alternative than giving every little state nuclear weapons.

Anyway, those eight countries listed are definitely the int'l community's bad actors.

When the Empire falls Korea, Japan, and Vietnam will acquire nuclear weapons. It's inevitable. It's really unfortunate and these weapons will probably end our species but it's going to happen.
