|

Hi! I'm hoping you could help me out.
I read that many people here use Schwab as your bank back home (the U.S.), as do I. I want to make my first transfer but all of schwab's websites list the swift code for all these other currencies but not for the Korean Won.
For example:
http://www.schwab-global.com/public/file/P-2791907/54-mkt24112_Wire_Transf_Instruct_Sheet.pdf
I would really like to send money home today but their offices are closed for calls so I can't send money until Monday unless I know the information for Schwab (and any other necessary information).
Thanks for your help!
Edit: I understand that Schwab doesn't use their own swift code and that Citibank is their intermediary. |

I think you have to switch the Won to the dollar to do a transfer to the US, but someone else please chime in if I'm wrong. You could always skype them and ask as well as I'm sure they'll be open tomorrow (Friday in the US). |

Schwab doesn't have a SWIFT code. If you have the brokerage/free checking combo they told me I needed to transfer via Citibank.
Destination Bank: Citibank N.A., New York
SWIFT ID: CITIUS33
ABA: 021000089
Account Name: Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.
Account Number: 4060-7595
Bank Address: 111 Wall Street, New York, NY 10005, USA
Then add For further credit to: your Schwab Brokerage account number and name.
I found that with both Daegu Bank and KEB I could just use the Schwab account number and ABA routing information (standard info). Presumably the Korean banks have their own intermediary. |
