Nat Geo doc about the perils of smuggling illicit substances into Korea.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2Qk4nPJSzY&feature=relmfu

Koreans don't really come off too well (sorta impersonal 'others') as the doc focuses on the odyssey of the perp, but the sentments are pretty heartfelt and make for worthwhile viewing.

Hopefully this time we'll avoid discussions which will incur the wrath of the admin team.

What a cretin.

I think that's from the series "Banged Up Abroad" or something similar. Every episode is about someone doing something illegal abroad and getting thrown in jail for it. (Usually something drug related.)

This guy actually got off really lucky compared to some of the other people on the show (including one guy who got locked up in Peru because his girlfriend was smuggling coke). In fact, he got off VERY lucky compared to if he'd been caught trying to mail it in Thailand.

I wouldn't want to be in any prison, but from what I've heard, Korean prison isn't half as bad as prison in most of the world. He wrote a book about it.

There was a guy who was caught selling Ecstasy and Weed about two weeks. Well, they're also checking his friends with both hair and blood tests. (Suspected) Guilty by association.

It says in the article that they used to meet as part of a English teacher group meeting. It also says that this guy was in a rock band. Most likely the other members are also suspected of having done drugs and will be checked in the near future.

Thanks man this video is pretty nice. Makes me feel like I'm in a Clancy novel. Uh...maybe not...but it's cool anyways. Thanks

The author was much more forthcoming--and honest--in the book than he was in the Banged Up Abroad episode. The book is titled Brother One Cell.

Originally the former, renamed the latter for American syndication.

Ya that is the episode about Cullen Thomas, the author of Brother One Cell.

OK book, interesting tale. Still that was dated almost 10 or 12 years ago. Back when smuggling stuff in was touch easier. People who get any ideas, the Korean Customs has drug sniffing digs now. The are one their game. Not only that they are keeping out an eye for fake pot too like SPICE.
