|
|
I've been hearing a lot about this recently from other foreigners I've met, but no one seems to have a whole lot of information on the subject. I've been in Korea for 3 weeks and need to get my ARC. I've been told by my school that I need to go to Seoul, Mok-dong to be precise, to get my ARC from the immigration office there. I did a quick search and subway time calculator and realized it takes over an hour each way to get to and from there from where I live (Bundang). I really don't have that kind of time in the morning before work, so my only option would be to go on Saturday when I hear the lines are horrendous.
So this brings me to my question, is there an immigration office that can handle these kinds of things in Seongnam city hall? I also heard that they only come every other Thursday, does anyone know if this is true? And if so, which Thursdays they are coming?
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated since no one at my work knows anything about it and I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info google searching. By the way I'm on an F4 visa if that matters at all for this process. |

Can you read Korean (to read the side of the bus to figure out which bus to get on - I don't have the bus number handy)?
There is a bus from Seohyun (across the street from Poonglim-I-Want) to Yongdongpo-gu office then catch the subway for a couple of stops. Takes about 30-40 minutes.

Yes I can read Korean. I know where Seohyun station is, but the other places are new to me. Not sure where Poonglim-I-Want or Yongdongpo-gu are. I'm pretty nervous about taking the bus since I really don't know a whole lot of Korean or the area so I might miss my stop :/
By the way do you know what time the mok-dong immigration office opens? I'd probably just try to get this thing done as early in the morning as possible to avoid being late for work.
Edit: Nvm I found online that they open at 9am and they take appointments so it shouldn't take took long |
