| They have all my crim check, degree etc at immigration from march this year. With a letter of release, is it as easy as filling in some forms and the visa is transferred? No need to get any of that apostille stuff again? I am sure the answer is on here but I couldn't find it. Thanks |

With a LOR and a new job it is a simple matter of filing some paperwork:
ARC
passport
LOR
new contract
new employers business registration (copy)
new employers guarantee (sponsorship form)
application
fees (60k for the transfer and 30k for the extension when needed)
Done over the counter, while you wait.
If you don't have a new job lined up then switch to a D10. Switching back to an E2 is the same as transferring.

I just left this question on another thread about someone getting fired.
If you've been at your job for less than 6 months, rumour has it that its "difficult" to transfer.
After transferring from E2 to D10 (after firing or quitting) are you really still eligible to transfer everything into another E2 position? No new CRC and stuff needed? |

This is what I just got sent
Here are the documents what you need for�transferring�E2 visa.�
�
1. Your diploma apostilled (Original apostilled + do it on your copy of diploma, they don't give it back to you )
2. Criminal Background Check from FBI� �+� apostille stamp (Original one) ===> It depends on the location where you are starting working.
3. Passport
4. Release letter (It depend on the situation)
5. Alien Registration Card
Those are general documents to�transfer�E2 visa, so we need to check more details later.
<It's for your wife.>
Here are the documents what you need for�E2�visa.�
�
*From this year, the Korean Law has been changed so you need�2�sets�of apostilled CRC &�2�sets�of apostilled degree. 1�set�for your�VISA�process, the other�set�to the Local Education Board in Korea.
�
1.�2�sets of�Your degree apostilled (Original apostilled + do it on your copy of diploma, they don't give it back to you )
2.�2�sets of�Nationwide Criminal Background Check (from FBI and within 6months) +� apostille stamp
3. Copy of your passport (photo page)
4. Resume
5. 4 Passport pictures
6. Signed Contract
7. Self medical check form(We will send you later)

As you know, we need�notarized and apostilled�Criminal Record Check and Bachelor's degree documents. |

Wow is all that really needed when transferring to another school?. It looks like just about as much of a headache as getting a fresh visa.
I ask this because I just picked up my D10 visa today and will be transferring to another E2 once I find a new job. It was my understanding that if one was on a completed E2 or a D10 that the transfer to another place of work was simply informing immigration of the new address and your old documents would be transferred to the new school. If continuing your E2 you would keep the same visa and if on a D10 you would just get put back on an E2. |

No. It is NOT needed for a transfer nor is it needed to switch from E10 to E2.
See my posts above for the 7 documents needed for a transfer or visa class change.

| Is it true that there's no minimum amount of time worked on a contract before you transfer? It used to be 9 months or 6 months, but now it could be 1 day? Is that true? |

Can I just check something about this information? I've been in Korea for a long time and need to transfer my visa soon to a new job. I have a LOR and all the documents above but I am unsure if immigration has my criminal check and degree. If immi doesn't have these (I've been here over 4 years and I don't know if they do) then should I be getting copies just in case? I heard that if they don't have them then I need to apply for new ones.
I actually have the crc at home in England as I applied for it anyway, but I don't know if I should get it apostilled or not.
EDIT: I just called immigration to be sure and even the woman seemed uncertain about whether I needed it or not. Although she seemed to think I needed a schedule from my new school and tax certificate from my current school?? Now I am really confused! |
