Any suggestions for places with good western food in Gangnam? Similar to TGI fridays but not tgifridays, which I'm not too crazy about. None of the food has wowed me. Generic tasting. And anyone who suggests Krazy Burger should be shot on site Wink

There is a Johnny Rockets behind the Burger King as you get off the bus at the main area there. Take the first right after the movie theater up the hill and then take another right(I think) and walk for about 2-3 min and there it is.

Kraze Burger is the biggest burger rip off joint I've ever been to. Like TGI Fridays, but not? I don't know, Johnny Rockets, as mentioned above, and the Outback a stop or two up are probably as close as you're going to get as far as the type of restaurant you're looking for is concerned. But, I'm sure there are a lot of high class restaurants in the area with more diversity, though I've never been to them. There are a couple of decent sandwich shops, the Dos Tacos nearby, and 43 Paris Baguettes. There's also a California Pizza Kitchen tucked away on the closest parallel street on the left side if you're headed towards the river. Right up the street from a Kraze Burger.

For brunch, there's a Butterfinger's near Gangnam Station and also in Apgujeong.

Fatburger recently opened in Apgujeong.

The Johnny Rockets is terrible.

The meat patties for the burgers are sweet (Korean bulgogi style) and the buns are weird (more like white bread).

However, they do serve pretty kickass milkshakes and "coke floats"

I'm going to second Johnny Rockets. I think one of the best burgers in Korea for the price.

Better than Burger Hunter? I thought that was best bang for the buck burger place in Korea. Never been Johnny Rockets though.

Really?

Been there twice and the burgers were awesome. Which one did you have that had sweet meat?

By the way, anyone looking for the place just get out Gangnam station exit #11, walk straight and make it right between "Paris Baguette" and "Tous les jours".

I really don't know about them having any "sweet" meat, but it's one of the least "Koreanised" western restaurants I've been to.

I'm the opposite: never been to Burger Hunter. Where is that? I'd like to give it a try.

go further down the road towards shinonhyeon station and there's a "w burger". much better than any other burger joints in that area in my opinion. they are also opening a new california pizza kitchen near that area.

It's a franchise so there are several. I've been to the one in Bundang near Sohyun station. Most combo meals are around the 8000-9000 range and they seem to be pretty generous with coupons and special deals. One time the guy gave me a free coke just cuz.

Please, let me believe that, aside from quoting only part of what was written, you mistread or read too quickly and didn't fully grasp the meaning of what was written, and by no means did you intend to be a smartass! Rolling Eyes

Of course, no one will ever say that you are wrong saying that "Food preference is subjective"; no one can argue with that. However, you do realise, I hope, that such a thing as sweet bulgogi style meat patties would be sweet to about anyone with a normal sense of taste, unless you don't know what bulgogi is (which is very unlikely in your case) ... or are truly a smartass. is the NY style deli over in Daichi-Dong still around? haven't been there in a while so don't know. literally the best western breakfast in Korea. hash browns, eggs, toast or bagel, Very Happy

great sandwiches (smoked turkey), choice of breads, excellent french fries; tucked away in a tiny little strip mall of several different restaurants. one on each end has changed several times.

there's also patio tables in front people share from all the restaurants together.

sits directly behind the Posco bldg. just at the bottom of the hill; there's a mart at the intersection across the street where the hill begins. across the street, same side as the mart, is the strip mall complex. the deli is in there.

it's maybe 1/2 mile from COEX mall towards Gangnam station direction
