 Posted: Fri Jul 20, 2012 1:07 am Post subject: factory reset a Vaio from Korean to English (Windows 7-K)? |

| So, I just bought a second hand Vaio. The previous owner reset it to factory but somehow the OS language got switched to Korean (the laptop was purchased here originally). This is my second Sony laptop, the first was purchased here in Korea as well and the guy at the shop told me that Sonys sold in Korea have an English OS install option. My question is, how do I access that English OS on the restoration partition? |

| got impatient waiting for a reply. tried it on my own. worked fine. after a clean factory reset there was an option to choose English or Korean. |

Ya sometimes the Sony Machines have a hidden partition that hold the rescue or reset disc. Always forget the key combination to booting up into that.
Is the system working fine? I have a Sony VAIO too but my was not standard. My system was only really sold here in Korea. Made finding drivers a little difficult. |

Having some minor issues with installed programs displaying Korean characters. I was offered "My Language is: ~" and given the choice of Korean or English on reformat and chose English... so, I dunno what is up with that. When I get some more time I will have to muck about with it. |

| Make sure you have English version driver installed. Also install the Korean input character set, that helps. |

control panel--> regional options and languages---> choose english US or whatever as language/std formats and US or wherever as location. |
