|
|
My after school program has been reporting that I only earn 750,000 won a month or something like that and has been only matching me 24,000 a month for a total of 48,000 a month that goes in my pension fund.
Problem is, there is a deduction of 55,000 every month from my pay for pension on my pay receipt. Which would mean they would have to matching 55,000 every month.
Anyone know the pension office number, I have to call them and get an exact total amount then go back to my employer with the evidence. |

What is your overall salary, and is it worth it to get another job? Don't need to answer here, just answer these questions in your head.
If you feel you aren't getting paid enough and you are willing to move on, then I would first show the contract and payment records to the pension office so they can see exactly what you are earning.
If they will do something, then just go back to work and give them a couple weeks to try to sort something out. If say they can't do anything about it, then perhaps you can talk with labor board, 1345
See what they advise. Each person has a different set of conditions, so you can't take action unless it fits in your situation. |

Are you only trying to get them to give you the 55,000 or do you want the actual full amount covered? I could see it swinging either way, given your family situation. |

I just want them to match what they are deducting every month. I need to call the pension office and get the exact amount then show them what should be in there if they were matching it and reporting everything as they should.
It's really weird, because the first pay stub I ever got had the deduction of 99,000 for pension, then a few months ago it says 55,000...but when I called the pension office they said it was reported I am earning 750,000 (probably as IC) and that there is a total of around 45,000-50,000 won going in every month. It's just pretty confusing but something definitely fishy is going on. |

I will most likely do this. Thanks. I show the discrepancy to my employer as well. |

Here's the pension office number I used:
National Pension Office - 02 397 9511 / 02 2176 8702
Note: when you give them your ARC they can check your deposits.
I've had pension problems a number of times.
I learned that the pension office tracks pension but enforcement is by the National Health Insurance Corporation (that also oversees your health insurance) (some of my hagwons were deducting but not depositing; a call to NHIC and it was fixed the same week).
Their phone number:
National Health Insurance - (02) 1577-1000 / extension #7
epeople - Make it easy on yourself and use ePeople to file an online petition. It takes just minutes to complete an application and submit it online. It is then routed to the appropriate agency and you can track status online ((include information from your contract regarding salary, address and contact information on school and contact information for yourself (phone, email)).
If you're unsatisfied, file another petition. I used ePeople to resolve salary, pension and tax issues the past year without ever having to visit an office in person. They may ignore foreigners, but hagwons do respond when they are contacted by Koreans from government agencies. It's a waiting game.
