I started out in Korea as an English Teacher. Worked this gig for 16 months and hated it. Now I got a corporate job at a Korean company making 2.8 million and they work me to death and my stress levels are high. The thing is I have a business in gangnam which I 14 ~ 15 million from. Should even bother working? If I quit my job it means sitting on my ass at home all day doing nothing. Not sure if I want to do that. What would you do? Take into consideration that I will be forty next year. So if I quit it will be even harder to find work if I get bored at home. My job is stressful to the point where I now think esl is a breeze. Opinions appreciated.

Poor you.

sorry for the typos. Typing this from my smartphone. To clarify i own a business in gangnam from which i make 14 ~ 15 million a month. I know it may seem like alot but to me its only so so. Also consider that i am not as young as most of you. I only have so many years left to earn money. Just dont know if the stress of current job is worth it. Help.

You have a company that makes more than 10 million a month and you think this is so so.

You have another job at 2.8 that works you to death.

Something doesn't add up.

Why on earth would you work for 1/3 elsewhere? Shocked

There is something more than typo mistakes going on.

I don't have a business and I wouldn't even work for 2.8 a month.

Your story has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese

@Everyone

Seriously, if you had the kind of money this guy does, wouldn't you just go home?

You have problems and I actually pity you. If can not be happy with 180,000,000 won a year, You may never be happy. I can't believe you want to work a stressful job for only 2.8 million a month if you are making 15 million on the side. Don't you have hobbies or interests of your own? If I were you I would spent time with my family and have more children if I had that kind of money. I would take them with me all over the world and write a book for fun.

I was going to post a thread about whether you guys think I should buy a summer home in Florence or Cannes, but if this is how we're going to treat people with serious problems, you can just forget it.

Your question is more legit and believable, but just not on a job-related discussion forum for Korea. Or did you mean Florence gu in Seoul and Cannes gu in Busan? Wink
