Please heed my advice. If you are getting a crown in Korea after a root canal in the U.S., please make sure that you have all of your dental records ready from the U.S. so that the Korean dentist can make your exact tooth shape.
My temp crown broke and I lost contact with my dentist, so I didn't have my records. For 3 years I had a crown that didn't fit correctly. I just got a new one 3 months ago and it's been great, but it was a huge hassle for a really long time. |

yes they are.
if you can go to Yonsei Hospital's Dental Clinic (Seoul) - they provide excellent care and have some English -speaking dentists.
4 crowns there myself; 3 mill won tops - was a few years back but probably not much different price now |

Do they have payment plans? 3 million is a little steep. I, too, need four crowns. |

That is steep, I have 3 crowns (will be getting a fourth soon) and each of them was in the range of 250,000-350,000 won for porcelain crowns and the gold crown I'm getting for my back molar will be 400,000 won. Sure I didn't go top end, but I'm happy with what I got.
As for payments, I believe most Korean dentists will agree to payments if you pay by credit card. |

Take your holiday in BKK.
4 root canals with 4 posts and 4 crowns and I paid US$1200 (total)
Posts and crowns (porcelain) are $200 each tooth and can be done over the period of your vacation (post when you arrive and crown before you leave).

not steep at all, included root canals for the teeth. also because it's a teaching hospital, I asked for the professor-dentist, not a resident, to do the work. that is a little more but in my opinion, worth it.
but I like TP's suggestion and next time will definitely consider Bangkok |

Well, I'm getting my rootcanals done here in the states today and I'm arriving in SoKo Sunday. I was told by my dentist to get crowns immediately after arriving in SoKo as to avoid a saliva infection. |

Root canals alone take 2-4 visits (each) with temp fillings and waits of 2-4 weeks between visits in the intrim.
A week or two after the last treatment you get the post and temp crown.
A week or two after that you get the final crown fitted and put on.
This was my experience in Phoenix (USA), Vancouver (CAN), Suwon (ROK) and Bangkok (THAI).
For one of them I had the temp filling in for 4 years prior to having the post and crown fitted. (Probably not advisable but none the worse for wear either).

Ok, it's been a little over a month since my rootcanals in the U.S. I didn't get crowns yet and my teeth and rootcanals are really starting starting to chip and break. I'm thinking I need crowns ASAP!! |

I have a tooth that would have to be surgically recrowned, so I left it uncrowned after a root canal. So far nothing bad has happened to it. |

These days any modern dentist can do single visit root canal and crowns. They have a machine on site that tools the tooth while he does the other work. I had one like that years ago in Canada. |

Of course they can. I don't understand the Korean way of doing root canals and cavities.
I needed two cavities and a root canal done and I was there over the course of a month and a half. Absolutely ridiculous and I refuse to have more work done on my mouth in this country (not to mention the lack of anesthetics that leave you squirming in agonizing pain because they refuse to shoot you up with novocaine after your first visit). I'll wait if I can and get it done in the States. 1 day--1 HOUR--and you're done. |
