I'm surprised no one has mentioned Big Rock, a Canadian bar. Right at Gangnam Exit 11, up at the top of the hill.

Big Rock is nice but a little pricey considering its off the beaten party path. I see it as a bit more chill atmosphere.

Whiskey Weasel has become my local hangout. Upbeat atmosphere, especially on friday nights. Its right near my work behind the Krispy Kreme. Super friendly owners, good food, pool/darts/golf entertainment.
I saw the korea vs england match there. Not a bad seat in the house for sports watching

Ahhh I think I tried Whiskey Weasel when it first opened. Gangnam is just so dead, it doesn't seem like anything exciting ever happens in those places (Weasel, Woodstock, Big Rock, etc). Boring and stiff.

The only fun I ever had in Gangnam was in those underground Korean clubs with the small booth entrance on the street, not sure what those are called. There's like a smoke machine and Korean dudes break-dancing down there, it's kinda awesome.

He was quoting an old post from the first page that he found funny. It was written by gang ah jee. Go find it, then take a deep breath and try to relax. It was written by someone else in 2003!

4X? Didn't it close down like 3 or 4 years ago (despite the sign still being there)?

wow, a 10 year old thread resurrected.
some classic posters there to from back in the day.

kangnam was dead because 2003 was before all the big clubs arrived
Answer, NB, M2, etc etc.. different story now. kangnam back in 1999-2003 when I was working there it was more about real korean style drinking, but now it's more western style clubs mixed with franchises everywhere.
still some hofs and soju bangs, but mainly it's a different scene now.
