Any other patbingsu aficionados out there? I remember when I first arrived I thought it looked like an awful concoction. When I mentioned this to my then-girlfriend now-wife she took me straight to Lotte department store in Apgujeong and we had the patbingsu there, and it completely changed my mind. The sugary warmth of the read bean paste mixes well with the milk and cool of the shaved ice.
What with the hot weather I've been eating it a lot lately. My favourite these days is the Caffe Bene one; not the most authentic, but I like the addition of the sugared nuts. Do you have any other recommendations for where to get a good patbingsu? |

I'm really partial to the one at Paris Baguette. |

There is one that is very popular among Koreans in Sinchon. I went once and it was pretty good. They use freshly prepared beans and rice cake and its served on the side so you can add it as you please. But be prepared to wait in line. Here's a link to a (Korean) blog about it:

Patbingsu is stupid.
Another wierd mixture of things that don't quite go together.
Put a few infants together with some random food items...let them play around for a while..and you basically have the origins of local "cuisine". |

Don't care for it. I've had a green tea version that was excellent, but it had no red bean so it's not really the same thing.
I love Korean food, but I can't get behind the desserts. |

There's something alluring about the icy treat when you share one on a date. Spoons dancing around the little morsels fighting over the ddok is what comes to mind. It's all about the giggles and the pre-connecting intermingling of saliva. |

I like the ones with rice cakes and frosted flakes in them~~ ^.^ I usually get it from the ddokbokki restaurant and then add soy milk instead of cream~ I don't really like the misutgaru ones... |

Make your own awesome patbingsu in the B1 Sheraton Deli! Only until August 31, and it even has crushed macaroon cookies and cherry pie filling for toppings if you don't want all the traditional ones or fresh fruits! Yummy! |
