|
|
I am currently in the process of writing my resume. I have had some teaching experience but I was wondering if it would be wise to include it. Please read on.
I started studying for a PGDE (Teacher Training course as a Post Graduate University Student in the UK) in the aim of becoming a teacher back in the UK. I completed most of the course but I left 9 months into the year because I was very young at the time, and I wasn't happy with the abuse the students in some of the classes were dishing out. I had about 3 months worth of actual teaching experience but I did leave this course.
How would you suggest that I should word this? Should I include it as actual teaching experience or would it be best to avoid mentioning this? I do count it as teaching experience but I am aware that some employers would not think the same. It has helped me a lot though, building my confidence.
Thanks in advance. |

Just write the teaching experience, say it was part of post graduate teaching studies. They will just look at it as teaching experience and won't think too much about it. |

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully, when I get an interview, I won't be asked too many details about it. |

Lol, you're unlikely to be asked too many questions in any interview for an entry level EFL job in Korea, regardless of background. |

Maybe not, I just wanted to cover my back though. |

If they ask anything about it whatever you say will never be checked out. |

You could say that during that time you were attending school on the resume. Although I don't think Koreans in general feel that bad teaching experiences in other countries are that important. This is especially considering the fact that schools in some other countries are total garbage...oh did I say Thailand.... , with teachers that are the epitome of the negative aspects of slave morality and owners and principals that are just plain dishonest and worthless. Koreans are pretty intellegent about some things, they know, at least some of the recruiters are.
You might try to send different CV's, one with your teaching experience to one recruiter and another without to another recruiter. |
