So I've searched the Internet all over, found many institues, city centers and unis that have weekday classes for free or millions of won,

BUT

I'm having a hard time finding anything on Saturdays.

I have been here about a year and I can order at restaurants and bars perfectly, ask where things are, basic sentences and can make tenses. My non-F&B vocab is shiat, though.

I'm kind of hitting a wall and thinking that I need the accountability of a paid class.

Unfortunately, because I'm hagwon, I can't make it into Seoul until 8:30 PM on MWF. TR I can make it in by 7 PM.

I live in Gunpo-si, so I am open to things close by, too.

Any suggestions?

I am willing to pay a little bit (not millions of won). After trying to go the free route or have a friend teach me, I think I need the accountability and structure of a college- like class.

Ganada has Saturday classes that are pretty good, and it won't break the bank.

I found I also hot a wall after learning just catching survival Korean. Picking up stuff while eating or drinking with friends can be limiting. You really have to take a class and learn other stuff systematically, unless you're the type who can study independently at home. I kinda sorta am, but I still needed someone to correct my work and motivate me.

There used to be free saturday classes at Sookmyung University. Don't know if they still do it or not, but it's worth looking into. I think it was language education students who taught the classes.

i've used YBM in jongno for saturday classes in the past. i think it was a choice of either 9-12 or 2-5. 90,000 i think, though this was about 2 years ago.

i've also used metro korean academy in gwanghwamun. they were better but pricier. i believe they do saturday classes too.

한글교실 -- PCL English Ministry Korean Class
www.pclkorean.com

they are free on Saturdays from 11 AM ~ 1 PM.

Also, 온누리 has classes on Saturday at the same time. They are in 서빙고 in Seoul. It's a huge church, but I don't have any contact info for them.

This! I've been to a handful of different classes in Seoul and the Sookmyung classes blow the others out of the water in terms of actually being useful. They still have classes every Saturday afternoon between 3-5pm and there are 6 levels. It's not free, but won't break the bank at 1000W a pop (+1000W the first time you go for the textbook).

Look up "Sookmyung Korean Education Volunteers" on Facebook.

another vote for sookmyung as far as the free classes go. unless you're an extraordinary person however i don't think you'll see big gains unless you put a Lot of time and effort into the language.

An extraordinary person, eh? Such a classic ESLCafe comment. I mean asking to do homework and group discussion is just such a lazy drunk teacher thing to say.
