40 degrees isn't hot. 32 degrees is freezing.

Laughing Only for an American.

For the rest of the planet:
0 is freezing and 40-45 is a hot shower or can scald a child.
Water boils at 100 and -40 is the same for everyone.
22-24 is a comfortable room temperature and 32-38 is a moderately hot day.

.

He already offered a mea culpa a few posts up so you can save your snide remarks.

Wasn't snide - simple statement of fact.... and included a chuckle to keep it light hearted.... For an American 32 is freezing.... for the rest of the planet it is not... and I gave some examples of temperature ranges....

If you can select 40 degrees, I am assuming you have a front loader, you didn't specify. Top loaders normally only offer cold, warm or hot. Front loaders do heat their own water, and are always connected to cold water. So if you select 40C, you'll get a hot wash.

100 Degrees:

Fahrenheit: Pretty warm
Celsius: Water boils
Kelvin: You're dead

32 degrees:

Fahrenheit: Water freezes
Celsius: Pretty warm
Kelvin: You're dead

0 Degrees:

Fahrenheit: Pretty cold
Celsius: Water freezes
Kelvin: You're dead

Not my creation, but I find it pretty handy.
