Does anyone know any Indian or Filipino males who could help me out? I am doing a dissertation on variations of English and I am looking for people to record themselves reading a short passage in English. I have most accents from the major English speaking countries sorted, (i hope), but I am struggling to find anyone from India or the Philippines.
If you can help please get in touch. |

Just go to the Pinoy store in Itaewan (ask anyone in the Philippine embassy to show you where it is - 40 steps away).
Sit at a table, order an instant coffee or have some adobo and listen to your heart's content or interview anyone who walks through the door.
They are friendly and don't bite.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I feel a bit awkward walking into a shop and asking someone to record themselves reading a paragraph in English. I'm still going to do it though. |

They are indeed friendly, and I recommend the tilapia if they have it when you go. |

If you live in Seoul there is the Foreign Catholic Church in Hannam. They have English service at 9 and 11 and there are many Filipinos and Nigerians. There are also a few Indians. The sister (Sister Sue) is from the Philippines. There use to be an Indian priest but he was or is about to leave for a church in Iran. After the church services there is food served and people mingle. People are friendly and I think would be more than happy to help you. |

There's a Filipino street market every Sunday afternoon in Hyewha. I haven't been there in about 2 years but it was up at the North end of the main street there near the big church. |
