They get about a month's wage from the employer. You pay them nothing.

Most recruiters that recruit for hagwons and public schools get about a million won one time FROM the school.

Teachers do not pay recruiters.

There is some exceptions.....

Sometimes recruiters do get money from the teacher.
Two ways that I have seen.

Recruiter will find University jobs and help prospective teacher. If teacher is hired, then recruiter is paid a lump sum.

Some recruiters are more of temp/part time job hunters. So some people who CAN legally teach privates will use a recruiter/employment agency who gets a cut of the per hour profit. For exact details I am unsure.

I was going to get another teacher to replace me, and the recruiter quoted me I think 1,000,000 or 1,500,000.

Most recruiters I talked to or met do not make one months salary for placing a teacher. The placement fee varies from 800 000W to 1.2M.

I would suspect that rates for recruiters have gone down compared to before the recession.

That could be the case as it is now easier to find teachers.
