If you fail the test...how much more do you have to pay for tutor support?

Can anyone tell me what I can expect on the final exam? Are they essay questions?

Thanks for any input.

Look at the info on their site (to get people to sign up to buy their course).

Many opportunities exist for TEFL jobs in Korea. It is also one of the more popular choices of destinations to teach English, because its one of the highest paid. A TEFL teacher willing to work overtime can earn $6000 US per month, and because the cost of living in this country is not that high, savings can be considerable.

$6000 is 7.2 million won a month. I don't know anyone making that.

If anyone is interested, this guy posted all of the worksheet answers on a blog. I'm not sure if they're correct or not.

The idea of having to complete an 18-page test within 24 hours frightens me. I think I'll just go with tutor support. Embarassed

I was wondering if completing the course before July 20 (the deadline mentioned in the EPIK-Seoul sheet) was possible. Do the tutors send you one worksheet at a time?

Thank you.

You can have 2 units at a time. After you've sent them in, the tutor will review them and send you 2 more. They only work on weekdays. The tutor I had was based out of Thailand - it can help to know what time zone you're working with!
I explained my deadline to the tutor and he was cooperative about getting the units back in a timely manner.
If you start now, you should have no problem getting the course done before July 20th.

I agree, you can definitely finish within a month or two if you are dedicated and put the time into completing the units correctly. One thing to be aware of is that if you have too many mistakes with a worksheet when you turn it back, you will be asked to make corrections. While ITTT is waiting for your corrected worksheet, they will not correct any other worksheets you have already submitted, so it can slow you down a day or two, especially with the time difference.

I'm working on unit 20 right now and it has taken me about 6 to 8 weeks to complete the whole course, with a week or two off for work-related travel.

Good Luck!

How long does it take for them to send you the material after you pay for the course? I just signed up for the non-tutor 100 hour yesterday.

I know this thread has been dead for a while but I just wanted to add my experience with taking the course with ITTT. I did the 100 hour non-tutor support course. I procrastinated a lot since I wasn't in a rush to complete the course (I'm now in the process of applying to teach in Korea). But soon I realized my 6-month time limit started creeping up (june 14th to be exact). I pretty much completed the entire course in about a month and a half. I was really scared for the final exam but had some idea of what to expect after reading this thread.

I took the final last week on the 12th. I spent the entire day (about 10 hours) on the final because I wanted to be thorough with my answers. After turning in the test, ITTT only took a day to get back to me and I passed! I was told that I received an A (no number score).

I do recommend working on the worksheets (I did most of them). They'll help you finish the final exam faster. Make sure to write everything in your own words. Don't dwell on everything in the units. Just concentrate on the information in the worksheets.

I don't think the tutor support is worth it. All the answers for the worksheets are in the units. Just do your best on them and then use those and the units to do the final exam. Save your $100!

I'm wondering how the final exam will be too. I'm sure it's just time consuming, but I'd like to see the exam questions before I actually take it, just to get a head's up of what I have to do.
