My school is going to try something...different. They are going to have meetings between the Foreign teachers and the student's parents.

I'm not sure what to think. I know that I'd rather not do any type of parent/teacher conferences but that's just a preference.

Any opinions on the subject?

Probably going to be a disaster, or at least very awkward. Can the foreign teachers speak Korean? Can the parents speak English?

I've done it several times. It's no big deal. The ones who speak English are the only ones who come.

Try treating it as an adult class; PPTs, worksheets, games. Work on the understanding there will be beginners there and include lots of coloring in sheets.

My school does it. I like it because I get to have better communication with parents. You can bring up concerns or find out more about the kid's life at home, and you can have the parents and you work together on a plan to help the kid. If they don't speak English, either your school will have someone translating or the parents will bring a sister/friend/etc who can speak English.
