If you have social anxiety right now, it won't get better. You haven't even encountered the racist old guys staring you down yet. And if you get a K-girlfriend it'll be 10x's worse. Have fun teaching in korea!

OP, whatever you do, do not take most things you hear from D7 too seriously. Sure, things he mentions happen, but not nearly to the degree that he leads people to believe (maybe in his bubble they are worse than the average person?).

On the contrary, believe everything I say OP. I don't sugar coat it and give it to you straight.

I think it's fair to have a little social anxiety upon moving to a foreign country. I'm pretty sure it'll get better as I start meeting people and going out with friends, so long as I can make some Razz

Thanks for this thread. I'm leaving in 11 days. I talked to the teacher I'll be replacing and he gave me some advice, and I'll definitely be bringing a years supply of deodorant and shoes as I'm a sweaty guy with size 13 feet. I use BOA, it too late to switch banks? If it is I'll just take out a month's cash at a time.

I have BoA at home, as I understand it, it isn't expensive or difficult to transfer money from whatever bank to BoA once a month.
