You could volunteer to teach women golf. There are good fringe benefits.

Check out "PLUR!" They feed the homeless, usually on Fridays and Sundays.

Toastmasters clubs are non-profits. Your feedback and efforts can help a lot of people improve their speaking and leadership skills, and yours will grow, too.

Look up the MIZY center, I know they are doing some volunteer stuff on the weekend for helping teach about various cultures, if you search my posts I posted about it not too long ago.

I recently discovered Mannam International: http://www.mannamintl.org/

I registered as a volunteer about a week ago, but am still waiting for some sort of confirmation. They also offer free Korean classes every Saturday around Seoul.

What's wrong with Mannam? I don't know much about them other than what's on their website.

Did the Mannam thread get deleted?
If so...what happened?

If not...I must be overlooking it...and a link would be useful in this thread.

Mannam is a front for the Shinchonji Cult. You can read about it here:

I have dealt with Mannam. Many claim ignorance and state they have no knowledge of it being connected to any religion. For example, I met one girl, who is super nice, and I told her at a party four months ago that I heard about Mannam being a cult, and she assured me it wasn't true. Later, a couple of months later she told some friends that she wasn't personally aware of that. Why wouldn't she be? You would think she would have asked questions if more than one person brought it up to her?

I told a few Westerners about the group, and they gave me blank looks. However, over time, more came to see the group as seeming to be cult-like. I can't tell you how many Mannam people tried to friend on me facebook. Maybe half a dozen. They seemed to only chase after foreigners and not cater at all to Koreans, which seemed odd to me and atypical. I know they lost many members recently in my area.

Foreigners should investigate groups before falling in love with them and staying in love with them for months only to discover a religious figure is connected to them.
