I know this question is all over but I did not find a answer to my particular problem. I will need to leave my contract 2 weeks early so I can go to Law School can I use vacation time and if I cannot would I be banned for leaving 2 weeks early also is there anyway I could possile still get my severance pay ect.

The answer is easy; start your course 2 weeks late.

Talk to them about it. You can probably cut some kind of deal - especially if there is enough time left for them to find a replacement.

Banned from leaving = no.

Lose your severance = very high possibility. Labor law clearly says completed calendar year. You can try to negotiate taking your holiday time and getting your severance but don't count on it.

I might have to do the exact same thing for school next year. Let us know how the negotiations turn out.
