| I think there are better ways of dealing with ones frustrations than venting about entire nationalities. I mean, venting doesn't always stay venting. Chronic venting turns into something worse. |
I said people complain about 'certain aspects of foreign culture' and you said people vent about entire nationalities. That's maybe where we disagree because I think, with one or two possible exceptions, most venting on here isn't going to turn into something worse as people are able to have a bit of perspective on things. They know not all Koreans act the same way without you, Urban and PGB continuously telling them. |

I'm dying to know how the other guy got his nose broken, and the details/results of the OP's case. Did you get a lawyer? Did you leave the country? Please let us know!
OTOH, most "apologist" stuff wasn't even that bad, in fact most advice was very helpful. Its only boring/annoying/senseless apologist fluff when it doesn't connect to the OP or slanders for no reason (Madoka) |

The joys of living in Korea--getting jumped and having to pay for the other guy's medical expenses when you were defending yourself and then on top of it getting screwed by a crooked legal system. I love this country!!!

Not only that, it's ruined things at my main school - the Korean guy called the local board of education about it and tried to get me fired, and they in turn contacted my school, which is why my VP is so angry. How did he know where I worked? The police told him.
Anyway, I have two people that I can call tomorrow that deal with cases like this, but it sounds like there is not much I can do about it. In other groundbreaking news, discrimination is acceptable in Korea. |
PM me dude. I have a lot to say about this |

Just a side note and in no way an interjection into this discussion that has gone way off topic...
But I would add concerning Patrick's comments, that the folks generally coined "apologists" are generally the more grounded folks into Korean society, long term folks with a vested interest in Korea (wife/kids/jobs beyond hagwons...etc) who have been through firsthand many of the situations that get posted here. As mentioned people use the term to make all sorts of accusations, but at the end of the day, the "apologists" tend to be on average the folks most well informed about the society and the ins and outs of this or that situation
Think what one will about their/our opinions, but one would be wise to take into consideration the experiences and testimony of such people. |
This. And this would include situations like the OP's. |

There are guys who will take shots at Korea any chance they get.
Then there are guys who will defend Korea, no matter what.
Both look pretty foolish, they just don't know it.
We all know who they are though. |

Of the apologists on this board, which ones are Gyopos, and how do you know it? Nothing wrong with being Gyopo of course, but it would explain some the posters who can't let ANY criticism of Korea go 'uncorrected'.
Do tell. |

Good question. I await bitterdino's response and what proof he or she has to back it up. |

The fun part now: do you "suspect" anyone of the being a Gyopo? |

With grammar like that...you couldn't be a Gyopo...much too elementary. |
