|
|
For those of you who are in the Hongdae area, there is a newer place that I'd like to rep: Monster Pizza. They sell giant slices for 3,500 won, which are better tasting and fresher than the slices from the Costco cart in Sinchon. I went there tonight and the owner was so great cul that we came in, he gave us a couple of free cokes. I'm surprised that the pizza by the slice business isn't better right now, but this guy speaks great English, learned how to make pizza back on the east coast of America, and has great New Yok style pizza. They have cheese and peppMeroni by the slice and are open late on weekends. I just had to try and get the word out about this place since the owners were super nice and they make awesome pizza. It's across from nb2 on the main Hongik street, past the park on the left side.
Edit: me spel gud |

Very much agree; I went there a month or so ago and was shocked at how good it was; a stratospheric step above what I was expecting. It's worth a trip to Hongdae just for the pizza! |

Monster Pizza is across from nb2 in Hongdae, or just walk from Hongdae station to the park, then go left and keep walking. You can't miss it. Alternatively, you can go Sangsu station, go out of exit 1, and walk towards the park. It will be on your left. Again, you can't miss it.
The Costco cart is a food cart that sells lukewarm Costco pizza by the slice. No idea why the pizza by the slice formula hasn't taken off here like it has elsewhere, probably because Koreans are used to Mr. Pizza or Domino's piling as much trash as they can onto the pizza and they see a simple cheese or pepperoni slice as somehow lacking the bulgogi, tteok, potato wedges, cream cheese ring crust, asparagus, pineapple and sliced hot dog that they usually have. |

People here always think I'm crazy when I just want a simple pepperoni slice. |

Ha! I'm just amazed people don't seem to know where nb2 is! I guess it is kind of a dudefest and mostly Koreans inside...
That said, yeah the places has been open for about 3 months, so there's a lot of promise. Still, good quality pepperoni pizza by the slice... Makes me hungry just imagining it! |
