Well guess what. Just a few days have passed and what do we have?
Apple is actually starting to REDUCE the price of some of "the products it offers" rather than increasing them.
http://paidcontent.org/2012/09/11/apple-is-already-fighting-amazon-in-the-ebook-price-wars/
And, a new iPhone was released and guess what.... wait for it.... the price remains unchanged at $199. Wow! Apple didn't raise the price of the new iPhone! Who'd of thunk?
It's just too easy! |
Now you're being just a tad disingenuous here sir
In the first instance Apple was forced to reduce its prices to compete with Amazon...not too many people are going to buy a book from them if Amazon is significantly cheaper...in some instances by about half as in the case of Telegraph Avenue
But hey nothing like attempting to make a virtue out of necessity.
In the second instance it's only been a few months since changes were announced at the Foxconn factories...price increases take time to trickle down. No one said it would happen soon. Also I'm not sure that the fact that Apple is keeping prices the same rather than say DECREASING them is a cause for celebration either, but whatever floats your boat. |

| I would say that 99% of the management at Apple care less about Apple than etopkorea appears to care about Apple. |

And as long as it works.
People like Apple because their stuff is better than other stuff. |

Don't really want to argue the point...was just pointing out that access had something to do with Apple's intent.

SAN JOSE, California (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Friday granted Apple Inc's request for a pre-trial injunction against the sale of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd's <005930.KS> Galaxy Nexus phone, handing the iPhone maker its second legal victory against Samsung in a week.

Friday's decision, by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, comes days after she also slapped a pre-trial ban on sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1, a tablet computer that runs on Google Inc's Android and goes toe-to-toe with the iPad.

It also banned the domestic sale of Samsung`s patent-infringing products including the Galaxy SII smartphone. |
The preliminary injunction has been lifted.

Interesting news.
This just caught my attention...and adds to the dynamics of this case.
U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh
Or was that brought up the first time round?
A Korean/American judge overseeing a lawsuit between a Korean and an American corporation...sweet. |

It shouldn't matter. Its a jury trial. I'm sure there's also some noise in Asia about Apple having a trial in America. Again, it shouldn't matter much. |

No doubt it shouldn't matter, but for some reason it does seem oddly serendipitous. |

Let me make this clear: Samsung did NOT copy the iPhone and NOBODY bought a Samsung product thinking that it was an Apple product.
What Apple is doing is just pure anti-competitiveness. They have been doing the same to HTC before Samsung became the biggest Android OEM, its just that this time, Samsung is a MUCH bigger threat to Apple than HTC.
Remember, Steve Jobs, SWORE the 'destroy' Android, and that he is willing to use every penny that Apple has.

Almost every non-iSheeps have said that its Apple being anti-competitive. Just look at what editors are saying on non-bias tech sites. Engadget is a good example (even though they are being accused of being Apple fanboys)
Engadget: http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/25/editorial-engadget-on-the-apple-vs-samsung-ruling/#comments
Remember, the judge had 2 days to understand and answer all the questions (that less than 1 a minute) and a lot of the results weren't right (a small example would be: Apple being awarded for the Nexus S infringing the 'bounce' patent, the Nexus S is a Nexus device and its NEVER had the 'bounce' animation that TouchWiz had)
And that Engadget link the someone posted earlier does not say that Samsung s deliberately copying, its saying that it looks to 'similar' to iOS and they wanted to change it, NOT make it closer to iOS. |

Seriously? |
Very. He used to be an employee of seagate, borrowed some money for some reason, failed to pay it back got sued by them, Samsung is a major shareholder in seagate. The woman who was on the legal team who sued him is married to the lead lawyer or something like that on the current samsung team. |
ok...found the link on your info.

This is great drama.
So...this may partly explain why the US decision went the way it did.
Time will tell. |
