950 km east of Manila and the 70% probability cone at 4-5 days hence puts landfall anywhere from Shanghai to Tokyo.
I wouldn't want to be in Guam or Okinawa but for Korea the chances of anything more than a drizzle and strong breeze are slim (subject to the inherent inaccuracy of meteorological forecasts more than 3 days out).

They now show it coming up directly over Korea and leaving at a Category 1, and potentially hitting at cat 2/3
It also looks like it'll hit Okinawa as a strong Cat 4.
Yes, it is a ways out yet, but the last couple did some damage and there is no reason not to be prepared. |

Weather underground projects the strength higher and higher with each update. Currently it is Cat.4 and it was just formed 2-3 days ago. It will reach super typhoon strength which is certainly no joke. Of course it will weaken by the time it gets closer to Korea but it will be more than just a breeze so better keep an eye on it. |

Emergency shopping? I'm hoarding all the ramen I can and sell it at 10 times what I paid after the typhoon hits. I'm going to be rich! |

Whenever someone mentions panic buying or hoarding. I'm reminded of that summer day July 8, 1994. Has it really been eighteen years?
It was hot and most didn't have the luxury of AC back then. It was a quiet day, subdued. There was no frantic panic in the streets. People were quieter, less talkative, distracted, yet oddly purposeful.
The thing I remember most is noticing the conspicuous absence of ramyeon and water from store shelves by the end of that day.
