Free WiFi - Nope. Doesn't exist here. I know a generic password that works for most of the LGnets. Pretty simple
Count to 9 and press A. Boom. |
Yes it does, I've used free Wifi at Starbucks, Cafe Bene and McDonalds. |

| I used to have no problem getting wi-fi when out and about, but now I keep getting this KT-Olleh login page........haven't really looked into it as I just switch to 3G when this happens so I don't feel a big need for wi-fi. |

I want to agree with all the other posters about the disappearance of free WiFi in Korea. Essentially, it is now a thing of the past. As other posters have said, it does not exist anymore.
This was a big reason for me to get the Galaxy, because you can easily configure it to act as a "mobile Access Point" and then use it as a wifi connection from your computer. In other words, my samsung galaxy phone has replaced free wifi, because I go through the phone from anywhere and access the Internet on my computer. This solution has worked out very well for me now, and I no longer am angry about the disappearance of WiFi from Seoul. |

| I don' know why, but my laptop just simply fails to connect to the house wifi at coffee shops like Tom n Toms, Cafe Bene, and Starbucks. |

| You don't have to plug the egg into anything. You just charge it up, turn it on, and make sure your network is set to it. |

ex-NESPOT now goes by 'Olleh WiFi' brand.
I'm on Olleh Wifi 'Single', KRW 8630 per month for a single designated device - could be a laptop, tablet, or smartphone that is not on a plan. There is no program/app you have to activate each time, no login process, wifi access is automatically granted based on the MAC address of your designated device which you submit when you sign up for the plan.
At least in Seoul, Olleh Wifi APs are almost everywhere including metro stations and on board the trains. |
