| I got a contract over the weekend and reading through it, it seemed to favor the school a bit. On the other hand, they're putting me up in single housing and I'm getting a salary that I'm happy with. Is this something that other people have noticed as well? |

| As a rule of thumb, the terms of contracts always favor the drafter. |

Pretty standard for contracts in Korea. If you are happy with what they are offering, sign it. Good luck. |

They give you money and a house and x days vacation.
In return you have to work x hours on x days a week and do x,y,z things.
Whether the contract favours the employer on the employee depends on your perspective and other offers I suppose.
Anything specific in the contract that you object to. I have seen some contract clauses that I would be cautious off but generally they are standard contracts that someone swiped from someone else because very few hagwon bosses have good enough English skills to draft a contract.
If you really object to something just say...I don't think I like this, can we change it? Most reasonable bosses will consider it. |
