I agree with Madoka, this is not a scam. It is however poor quality crap that floats around online.
To each his own. |

You guys don't seem to understand what a "scam" is.
They entertain hundreds of thousands of people. They want a new studio so they can better entertain us. We voluntarily donate so that they can get this studio to better entertain us. It's fine if you don't like them or get their humor, but no part of that is a scam. |
Well, you seem to understand the meaning of the word "scam" ok, but you seem a bit fuzzy on what the word "get" means. |

| Asking for money isn't a scam. Pretending that they absolutely need 100,000,000 won to get a Visa they don't need, as well as a big place in Seoul to register their 'business', this is a scam. |

It just goes to show that lack of talent is no barrier to making money. I suppose one has to take off their hat to them from the point of view of initiative. To make a youtube channel devoted to kpop and shamelessly self promote is pretty rare.
These clowns are both actually certified teachers. At the GEPIK coference I went to they shamelessly promoted their website as a lesson planning and English teaching resource. Well it wasn't long before all lesson plans dissapeared and all we were left with was kpop plop. They had this whole angle of how kids could learn English through Kpop. They gave up their teaching jobs long ago though. I guess more money to be made off the kpop.
Their idea of making videos by imitating the dance moves of kpop artists is unoriginal to say the least. I used to see a whole bunch of Korean clowns do the same thing on Korean television. It's been done a million times before and consequently it is a bit boring.
Whenever I see them interview a Korean celebrity (check how uncomfortable all parties look BTW ) or do one of those retarded dance routines I just cringe. That is really how I would rate all of their videos - "cringeworthy"
THey both probably think they are funny and great entertainers. Honestly there is more wit and comedic value in an earthworm.
THey have no future however. THey have done it all. What are they going to do next? make another video on KOrean food (yawn) or another video review (yawn) ?

| At least if their videos were a sort of food chronicle they would have worth. |

I'm not normally a hater, but I just can't understand why anyone would like their videos. Why are they so popular?
I've watched several of their vids and they just come off as annoying, talentless rookies. The interviews with celebs are particularly, as another poster put it, cringeworthy. Awkward pauses, stupid, repetitive questions. No one in the interview looks comfortable.
If only they were the slightest bit humorous their vids might be a bit more palatable.
Since their blog/vids are so popular, I can't blame them for riding this wave. But why in heck would anyone want to watch them? I suppose I could see young Koreans whose English is still at a low level getting some enjoyment out of this. But that's about it.
Oh, and when is the dude going to realize he's gay? |

Honestly, they sound like a couple of scam artists to me.
Clever and cutesy scam artists, but scam artists all the same. |
I'm a sucker for these kinds of things. Gave them $1500 USD. What the hell, it's only money. |
Stingy bastard...why not go the whole $1600 and let them both get a nice new umbrella. |
I like you because you make me laugh.
I swear that guy looks just like GaJackson that used to post here in 2003-7 |

If he was insanely average looking, wickedly average in height with a ripped sexy body...then I swear he is my body double. |

Just for fun, I pasted the highlighted text into Google and wouldn't you know it, a shot of Justin Bieber came up. Well, that, and this. |

I don't really like them, not my taste. I have nothing against them asking for money from people who value their services and efforts.
I do have a problem with anyone who thinks this is some kind of charity. If it is that would be a total scam.
It's clearly a business that they need consumer support to operate as they don't make enough money through business deals. They simply don't want to charge a user fee. There is really nothing wrong with this.
This being said, I hope they have researched the required taxes on their business income. I'm sure this will be looked into when they apply for their visa.
I also wish them luck as this will be a difficult way to make an income. |

Speaking of scams, how do you think people would react if they found out there was a Caucasian male on here (banned poster davidmeetup) posing as a Korean woman in order to promote his sleazy events? |

Ultimately they "work" in helping S. Korean entertainment agencies who really are slime balls. Because of them and their slave contracts Korea as a nation can't even qualify as a country here...
http://www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10songs.html
You see, any Top Ten wouldn't be a fair/real Top Ten because some entertainment companies don't let "their" singers/dancers/actors sell their songs on iTunes. There are 22 countries including Japan that do qualify but of course NOT S. Korea. |
