What's the highest floor that you (or someone you know) has lived on without an elevator?
By about the third floor of climbing I've had it. |

I lived on the 5th floor in an apartment in New York that had no elevator. It was fine except for the couple of weeks that I had a sprained ankle. |

I don't normally the mind the walk.
The only exception is if I'm trying to move stuff. That's when it's inconvenient. |

Yeah I guess that wouldn't be too bad but its just that I go on intense runs and sometimes quite far. When I arrive back home I am clinging to the handrails going up. I can hardly walk....but it's worth it! |

In Korea, my wife told me, that they do not put elevators in any apartment buildings 5 stories or lower. Anything above that they have to put an elevator. |

Used to laugh when the lift would die (sometimes for days at a time) in these big apartment complexes and the princesses would have to drag their unfit asses up to the 18th floor in their high heels. Clip clopping all the way like a freakin' Clydesdale. "Ommoh!! I leaft-uh my Samsung Ga-Rek-Shee down inna da car!!" Back down again haha. Thankfully most of the schools are pretty cheap and tend to house teachers on the lesser desirable, cheaper fourth floors. Floors 3~5 are perfect in my book. High enough to weed out many of the mosquitoes, street noise and rapists, but low enough that you could probably survive a flaming inferno-induced leap. |

Likely they're too short of breath and clutching their heart to gripe. |

The last building I lived in only had 5 floors and it had an elevator, it was a brand new building though. |

Yeah because that chubby foreigner over there will love to walk up 18 floors with his groceries. |

When I lived in Moscow,I had a flat on the 10th floor of a 14 story block. The elevator was like something out of the 1950's communist Soviet Union and was commonly out of order.
I walked up those 10 flights a great deal during my year there. I even did it once carrying an old school 42 inch tv with the big picture tube in the back.
Needless to say,I had to take many breaks on my ascent.
Ordering pizza was always fun as the delivery guy was always pissed when realizing he had to climb 10 flights with a hot pie and no lift.
I tipped him well |

Uh, no you did not. One of the biggest CRTs ever made was the Sony 40 inch XBR. It takes four men to transport that beast. And you were able to deadlift a unwieldy 300+ lb. TV up ten stories by yourself? |

Uh oh I set off your kneejerk Korean rose colored radar it seems.
"I don't like the mosquitoes in Korea in summer."
"Mosquitoes are worse in Canada! If you don't like Korea then you should just leave!" lol.
I made reference to the unfit foreigner in the post directly below that one, so it's all balanced, Homesy-poos. |
