Korean construction is a notch above thatch huts in Africa. They are coming in through all of the cracks in your ceiling, walls and windows, probably.
I didn't have a problem with them ALL summer until a couple weeks ago myself.

Watch what follows you when you enter your apartment; they tend to congregate around the front door.

you have ventilation openings in the building. Try buying a fan and putting it right up to your bed and directly on you. Usually they can't attack with a real strong fan. It screws up thier sensory ability and probably flying ability.

depending on the size of your place get 2-3 of those plugin deals that have the liquid bottles attached to them. That will usually kill of any that make it in.

Actually those really did work for me. I thought they were a gimmick at first when my wife bought some last year, but it seemed to work well.

They hopefully won't be sticking around for much longer. Someone told me once that they can come up through your drains..the one in your laundry, in the bathroom and the two sinks. I block mine every night before going to sleep and have kinda noticed less of the little bastards.

Those plugin repellents do alright, however the first night I tried one I put it fairly close to my bed and proceeded to have an immense dream that I was Larry David's head. The head only...trying to make a living.

My window screen is great, but only if they land on the screen itself. The smart mosquitos simply move around to the edge and get in through the gap between the screen and the inner window pane.

If i have my lights on, about 3 or 4 will come in that way over the space of an eveing. Bloody useless!

Once found they were entering the exhaust fan over my oven. Keep an eye on that, too.

Yes, the liquids and tabs for killing mosquitoes do work, but they give me weird dreams. I'm not convinced that they are safe.

I can't help as far as keeping them out goes, but it would be wise to buy a spray to kill them when you spot them on the walls or ceiling. They usually take at least two bursts to finish them off but it means you won't have splatter marks on the walls from crushing them. Also I've found when I get bites if I rub a wet bar of soap over the bite and let it dry it stops itching. It's also an incentive not to touch it, which would work to some degree in itself

A fan is a good thing to have. I wouldn't do this now because the weather has cooled down a lot, but during the summer if I'm going to bed and hear mosquitoes (or wake up and hear them) I'll point the fan at my bed and set it to go for about 45 minutes. You can get to sleep then without being distracted by them buzzing around, they may settle down in that time and leave you alone later, and it's nice to have a fan going in the summer anyway

I've noticed the same thing, I've kept everything shut over the summer and yet they still seem to be around, although far less just now. I've noticed they seem to come up through the drain so I bleach it. Others that get in I mash with my fist.

I'd never trust them either. Koreans burn mosquito coils indoors next to their beds for pete's sake.

I'd go old-school and get fly paper. Yeah, it's kinda unappealing, but I like to see that they are physically caught. There's a satisfaction in that. Between the fly paper and pointing a fan at me when I sleep, I haven't had a bite in years.

Where can you get fly paper? I would also gain some satisfaction from knowing they were caught and not just hiding out until I was asleep!

I agree with the poster who said that Korea has a lot of shoddy construction. I don't leave the doors open, but I get plenty of mosquitoes, regardless. I sometimes turn on the electric zapper and that plug in. It might be helping a bit.

Before I open my door I always blow around the top part of the edge to flush out any ones that might be attracted the warm air and/or human pheromones in the apartment. I can usually flush out a few every week by doing that. I also have the F-Killer chemical stuff, but I don't like to have that in the air I breathe all day. I also close my bathroom door just in case they get in through the drain or the fan, which is my guess as to where most of them come from.

But yeah, if you've ever seen Korean construction workers, it's not exactly the most graceful or well-coordinated job. It also involves a lot of sitting and standing around, apparently. Even government-built apartment tracts in Singapore is of better quality than the average Korean place.
