the whole of society benefits greatly from its existence. if i drove a car to work every morning, i'd be grateful for all those people who took the metro, since there'd be less traffic on the roads thus giving me a better chance of getting to where i want to be on time. if i owned a business, i'd be glad the metro existed because it would enable my workers to get to the office on time and not be stuck in traffic. so even by not using it, i'm benefiting from it. public transport offers strongly positive externalities that are not captured by the basic cost out-revenue in calculation |

| I'm not saying you can't have the externalities argument with someone who uses the image from an Ayn Rand book cover as an avatar. I just don't recommend it all that heartily. |

| With regards to the (yellow) Bundang line extension from Seolleung to Wangsimni, the visitkorea.or.kr subway map has been updated to include the extension and new travel times (12 mins, Seolleung to Wangsimni), and the green line to yellow line transfer signs at Seolleung now have Wangsimni written on them. I didn't follow through to see if it's actually happening yet, but if it's not, it can't be far away. My Jihachul subway app hasn't been updated yet. |
