For applying to GEPIK, or another public school program, or even for a hagwon through a recruiter, what are the documents that everyone says you should have in order before you start applying? I'm guessing that they are:
cover letter
resume
apostilled degree
criminal record check
passport
university transcripts
letters of recommendation
Is there anything that I'm missing? And are there any of those things that I don't need to have right away but that I could finish during the application process? |

For hagwon jobs you can take or delay the letters of recommendation.
The rest are necessary before you start applying.
Not having them in hand (scans attached to your application when you e-mail recruiters) means your application hits the junk file without anything more than a quick glance.

Oh, so you even have to have your CBC returned and apostilled before you apply? I thought that as long as you sent off for your CBC you could go ahead with your application? And do you mean you don't need letters of recommendation for hagwon jobs?
I guess I'll have to wait awhile before I start applying because I just sent out my CBC application last week. Do you know when the deadline to apply to GEPIK is? Is it December? Also, do you know if you need a TEFL to apply to GEPIK if you have a BA in English?
Thanks. |

Many of the postings pretty much require you to start ASAP and they don't want to risk having to wait months to get a teacher if there are plenty looking at the moment.
And no, you don't need a TEFL if you have an English or Education degree. It can't hurt, but you definitely do not -need- one. |
