I was at my K-friend's home. His wife cooked some dinner and we shared 1 Hite pitcher. I chilled there for about 3 hours....and then proceed to head home on my motorcycle.

I came across a DUI check point. My heart sank and I got very nervous. I've heard that Korea has a NO tolerance drinking policy. I blew very lightly into the machine and then it made a beeping sound.

The cop waved me through though. I wasn't drunk or buzzed, but I thought I was going to go to jail. I parked my bike at home and walked to the local bar. I filled my gut with 6 shots because I needed something to calm me down. (I was still a little bit nervous)

So what's the law here Question Does anybody know Question

yeah...but how much did he have to drink?
Okay...in most states in the U.S. you must be under a .08
I probably would have been a .02 or something. Is that okay?

Wow a .08? That's pretty high :)

In any case, I've heard that it's the same in Korea as Australia (0.05) but this was from my dad. He doesn't live there all year round so he may be misinformed.

Any takers?

jae.

I'm not being rightous, but, if one can't handle their drinking, then why do it? So, getting busted, that's great! It could be my child that some idiot hits with their car or it could be your child. Makes no sense to me as to why someone would want to drink so much alcohol.
Every person has a different tolerance to alcohol but that does not matter, it's what the law states that matters. In korea, it's a low number, .05 or something similiar. That's not very much alcohol for the average size person!

No it doesn't. That person is a *beep*-ing ass-hole for drinking and driving. I wish that they deported all the retards who do that over here. Way too many white dudes are getting drunk and speeding off home on their bikes. I hope they all get caught (and not just the foreigners)
