I'll start this list off (and please don't list abstract stuff like "common sense," etc.).

Wendy's - I just had a Wendy's burger in Manila and I really loved it and had forgotten how good it tasted like. The double burgers were far better than the stuff McDonald's offers. Wendy's used to be in Korea but its burgers here tasted nothing like those back in the U.S. Things started getting bad for Wendy's Korea after the 1997 Asian financial crisis. The Korean franchise then renamed itself Winner's before folding soon after.

Chinese food that isn't Koreanized - I love going to Chinese restaurants in just about any country except Korea.

CI (Criminal Investigation Network) - I watch this channel religiously when in Southeast Asia, and I can't believe Korea doesn't have it given the popularity here of American crime shows like "Law and Order," "CSI" and "Cold Case."

Motorcycle access on freeways. There's no reason 500cc (even 250cc) and above shouldn't be allowed on freeways. I would love to take trips to the beach, mountains, east coast, etc. but don't want the hassle of finding alternative routes.

Ben & Jerry's ice cream. It was here when I arrived in 2005 but was gone the year after.

Dairy Queen. I love me a good Blizzard.

Pumpkin pie-based treats at this time of year. I was in Canada over Chuseok and it seemed like pumpkin pie was everywhere (I even saw an ad for a pumpkin pie eating contest). Oh, and the pumpkin latte at Starbucks is awesome.

Open field golf driving ranges. Larger batting cages where you dont hit the bat on the net behind you in your follow through swing. Single player arcade games where you dont get interrupted when another guy sits across from you and starts a game.

I agree, especially with having a "Wendy's" here. That is or was the best burger joint going for fast food.

As for one posters comment about strip clubs. They do exist here secretly. You have to be refered to a secret building to get in. Not legal. I assume you have to be with other Koreans. (I've been told by Korean friends.) Good luck.

Also, Greggs. It's a bakery from the UK and they sell fresh rolls, sausage rolls, crisps, steak bakes, pineapple cakes, yum yums, everything you could possibly want.

I had a Wendy's burger in Japan and it was rubbish. It made me throw up late that night.

I'd also like to add real American BBQ, Japanese and Thai food that tastes like Japanese and Thai food, size 14 shoes, 34 length pants, and more areas with flat grassed pitches/fields for sport.

I would love some real Italian food instead of just pizza and spaghetti that is the only "Italian" food served in a restaurant. Also some good Mexican food would also be a hit. There were a couple places I knew of in Osaka when I was in Japan. There is one place here in Gwangju, but it's horrible. Electronics stores where you can browse tons of items. If any of you know of Yodobashi Camera in Japan, you know what I'm talking about. What's with the hate against wireless mice too?
