Honestly, is it necessary to have the heat blaring already on buses and trains. This morning on the way to work I almost fell asleep from the heat. Same the other day on line 3 of the subway.
Is it really that cold that we need to have the heat on? Soon it'll be all department stores blaring the heat at full force. |

Question: How do Koreans spell "thermometer"?
Answer: "C-A-L-E-N-D-A-R".
It's October, friend. It doesn't matter if it's the worst heat-wave of all time, it's October and that's all that matters. In October, one must turn on the heater.

No worries! They will turn it off again during the coldest week in January |

I've been dealing with it on the buses and some subway trains alright, but when it was blasting at the gym last night...I thought I was going to die...but, I guess it doesn't bother you when all you do is 20 sets of bench on the Smith machine with no weight, or walk in the treadmill slow enough to primp each hair that falls out of place... |

I wish the driver had to keep his jacket on, like most of the passengers, then they wouldn't blast the heat up to high. Actually I always take my jacket off if it is too hot in the bus (usually just before getting on the bus, since it is always too hot), but I am amazed to see that everyone else keeps their jackets on, even in the blazing heat. |

The good old Korean Jimjilbus.
Minus 15 degrees outside and Plus 28 degrees inside. Practically need to turn the air-con on.
Surely it can't be healthy for your immune system to be endlessly heating itself up and cooling itself down.
Might be one of the reasons why everyone is always sick all the time. |

Easily the worst thing about winter here - you dress for the conditions outside and then the transport system is heated like a second summer, and you've got to strip off the outer layers or get drenched in sweat, which is the last thing you need when you go back into the cold. |

THEE biggest pet peeve of mine in Winter. Not the cold, not the slush, not the wind, not the wet shoes--it's the freaking lunatic bus drivers that for some reason he's doing us all a favor keeping the bus at 95 degrees. I admit, it's great to get on the bus when you've been freezing waiting for it to come, it's nice and toasty--but after the first 2 minutes, it gets oppressive.
Interesting someone mentioned about the bus driver only being in a shirt, I think you're right, that may be why he has the heat on so high and the fact that he opens the bus door every minute and gets a draft.
But the heat on the bus is ridiculous, absolutely unnecessary. I can't believe the Koreans take it and don't say anything about it. |

The joke is pretty funny, but I think he was referring to the fact that you spelled "calendar" wrong. |
