When I was in the hospital I was watching tv over slingplayer nearly the whole time to kill boredom (I didn't have a Kindle yet) and was glad to have the unlimited plan.
I've found wifi coverage to be pretty spotty. I had the first generation ipad back in 2010, before the 3g model came out (this was before the ipad was released in Korea) and hated having to find a wifi hotspot. Having 3g (or LTE) service is much more convenient. It's a matter of preference, of course. |

| It's worth noting that if you have other services through the same phone company, you can often get discounts. I have KT internet, and that gets me a 9,000 won discount on my phone. Note that this isn't something you get when you set up your phone plan. We had to go down to the local branch office and apply for it separately. Not a huge difference, but worth the minimal time it will take to get set up. With the discount, my minimalistic iPhone plan costs me about 55,000 including the phone. Sure, I only get 500 mb of data a month, but I don't watch youtube and have wifi at home, so burning through even that much is almost impossible for me. |

| I'm in Hawaii and using Virgin Mobile (Sprint 3g) for 35$ a month, unlimited data and text but only 300 minutes. I stream Pandora and watch videos just fine. When I land in Korea (Feb), I want the Lumia 920 if available. I have no problem with paying upwards of 70$ a month so we will see. |
