I have been using Paypal in Korea for the past 9 years. I have it linked with my Wells Fargo account and AMEX card. Recently, I went into it to add funds from my bank as my sister needs some financial help. It would not allow me to do it and asked for copies of 4 documents to verify who I am. No problems with 3 of the documents, but one is impossible to satisfy. They wamt a copy of a utility bill with an American address. I do not pay utility bills in the US becqause I live here. Also, my online Wells Fargo account no longer lets me see my checking account. I can still use my credit cards and Itunes that is linked to the account. Apparetly, the US government set up some new laws requiring the documentation. There must be tons of US citizens who are expats and do not pay utiltity bills in the States. Anyone else have a problem with this?

I have a Wells Fargo account and I can still view my checking account. I did notice the last time I logged in that you had to sign a new terms and conditions and if you didn't do it in time they would stop your online banking access.

All these companies live in the past, in the world where people stayed in the same country their whole lives.

I've had problems with eBay, iTunes, Blizzard etc. They are unable to comprehend "international people" who don't belong to any one place.

iTunes for example; say you are American, living in KR, and speak English...if you use the KR iTunes Store you must read Korean, if you use US iTunes Store you must have a US address. Well, some of us don't fit into those narrow categories.

It's all a big mess, welcome to the awesomeness of being ahead of your time!

Now someone please reply with some small-minded stuff to my enlightened post as is the way here...
