I heard Denny's was briefly in Korea but left just as fast.

Denny's is coming to Shanghai soon. It's pretty safe to say that I won't be going there, as I don't engage in those activities that led me there at 3am in the States from time to time.

lol.

The spitting thing has been bothering me much more than usual lately. Its tough that you cannot go one minute of the day without hearing someone loudly hoking and spitting phlegm.

K-men think it is unavoidable and necessary. But I doubt it because there are many other countries where people do not do this all day long. They are quieter, they use tissues.

Better scene for EDM (electronica dance music).

Yeah there was Global Gathering and UMF, but there's a serious lack of real international DJs who come to Korea. Ellui is pretty much the only club that gets any international DJs. They had Sebestien Leger a few weeks ago, and they're getting Cosmic Gate next week but there's been no one special otherwise. I dunno the last time Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Steve Lawler, Dubfire to name a few have been here. I don't know what's up Koreans here. Either they're out of tune with the scene, don't try to force the promoters to bring in bigger DJS, or both.

Also, there's way too much cheesy electro house being played by the locals. I barely hear any tech house or trance.

-I agree with the drugs too, esp. weed.

-More variety of cheeses

-More variety of bagels

-More variety of chicken wings

-STRIP CLUBS dammit. I just like watching a show and don't feel like going all out on Hooker Hill or buying over $300 bucks of booze in some underground bar before they bring the girls out for "chatting"

Things were blowing up for a while, then allegedly some DJ's were introducing drugs to the kiddies, which led to the authorities clamping down

Are you serious? Anyone in particular or any event that caused issues?

It just sucks...I'm a really huge EDM fan and there's a serious lack of DJs who come to Korea. The best month clubwise this year was June when Ellui had Miss Nine, Mat Zo and someone else whose name escapes me right now. I wished the locals did play more trance or tech-house, or techno, but everytime I've been to Club Mass or Cocoon, there's this insistence on playing the cheesiest of all EDM. Actually Mass did have a small room playing tech house but you had to pay more for to get in there arrrgh. Electro house is alright if you're smashed and it does bring the girls out but I have feeling the girls would come out anyway as it's the club that's attracting them.

Someone seriously needs to push the promotors to bring the hype DJs here...I think Sasha hasn't been here since like 2008? The clubs themselves have really good lighting, LEDs and video effects and definately have the space. They're just lacking the talent. baaah...i guess I'm too used to how cushy things are in Toronto where there's at least one big DJ who comes every week on average.

I wish Korea had this kind of justice for employers who don't pay salaries.

When Denny's was in Korea (1995 or so) they weren't open at 3am anyway. I don't remember the hours exactly, but they definitely weren't 24/7. I also remember going to Denny's near CoEx and being told that we were too late for breakfast food. This was, of course, just as the PA was playing its "Welcome to Denny's, where you can get breakfast any time!" announcement.

Think of the prospects: more jobs, population control, a heightened sense of awareness, and a certain regard for the fellow man--aside from just relations and status!

Eh...benefits outweigh the costs. If someone's gonna take his or her own life, I doubt having a gun is going to up the ante--well, maybe if they take several lives with him or her (but the rate of that is honestly really low). And think of the great demographic effects. You can finally have people move away from cities and everyone can have his or her own seat on the bus. Look at Detroit! Plenty of room on those buses and the car sells are awesome too. Vote Romney! Laughing

I'd like to see Chick-Fil-A in Korea. I think the concept and the great food would be quite welcome. That said, I have seen locally-owned chicken shops in Korea who have copied the "C" with the chicken head logo for their stores. I'd like the real thing, closed-on-Sunday and all.

You guys are freaking teachers. Now you know why I bash ESL teachers, they're losers. Go back to your dead end career choice in your home country and do drugs. You filth, grow up!
